La Banda Shock is a collective, nineteen musicians who enjoy playing in the midst of people and on stage. In his presentation is not rare to see them off with their instruments, playing as they settle to the public, then everything becomes a delirious carnival, a big party in half of cement. La Banda Shock is a troop, a family that plays together for 7 years, and maybe that's why instead of disks, have left only memories for those lucky enough to be there. They left in 2001 as a musical project parallel to the Mendicant Theatre productions, continued its journey in marriage, baptisms and funerals, before getting to the stage (2005). Theirs is the instrumental format of dairy nortino, the village festivals, cumbia, porro, the cuyahuadas, waltz, bolero, San Juanito, we would say that this great Banda has formed its foundations in his love of music our Latin American and some years have included repertoire of Gypsy music, have done so, extending and disseminating this music with the energy that characterizes them, all together, like the soundtrack of a nitrate still operating. Others Hand is a small big band that fuses rhythms of Eastern Europe and Russia, France, Venezuela and other countries around the world, mixing everything in a perfect pastiche that collects, in addition, trends in each of the six members of the band, and a taste for Rock, Punk, Theater or the Latin American Folklore. For them, this project is a musical milestone in our country, which converts a particular music of Jews and Gypsies in a space of belonging Chile: The Klezmer to Chile. So Others Hand hits the market after 3 years of existence with its first self-titled album name. Klezmer is
orchestrated music that comes from the Jewish people as Gregorian chant, which he incorporated elements of French and German music during the Middle Ages. Roaming musicians were allowed more influences shaping their repertoire, incorporating peoples' own expressions which established, as elements of Turkish music, Gypsy and Balkan. Together with Jewish immigrants, this music also came to America, feeding the proposal further.
"With the respect they deserve our aboriginal peoples, we are a continent of emigrants," they say. "A little more than a century there are Gypsies in Chile, there are Jews here in large numbers. All of this is linking, music coming from Colombia, Central American music, Cuban music ... There are very mixed," says her musical director, Rodrigo Latorre. Others
Hand appropriated the Klezmer when Rodrigo (vocals, guitar, flute, soprano and alto sax) traveled the world thanks to his work with El Teatro Del Silencio. Along with this style and they knew it was growing to start with a trio that later joined by other members. Today, Rodrigo addition, we have Gabriel Moyla (accordion and vocals), Joel Viera (clarinet, vocals), Maria Fernanda Carrasco (vocals, minor percussion), Christian Aqueveque (bass and vocals) and Álvaro Sáez (drums) . All of them willingly engaged with the idea, influencing the strength and vitality of the Rock. "Then we add Funk, Latin American music, and here we begin to make a collage with Reggae music, half cumbia," French folk with a rocker ... Our joropo concept is a little in the mix, "they say.
