GOODBYE, GOODBYE DEAR OLD STORIES UNPUBLISHED

The singer's brother Nicanor and Violet falleció ayer a los 90 años.

According to the doctor, Rodrigo Poblete, the death was septic shock secondary to pneumonia or aspiration. A number of cardiac and respiratory complications that erupted with force since 2007 and it remained in critical condition since Feb. 19 last, when he entered the Catholic University clinic.

Only 26 March, the artist was discharged with the secret intention of spending his last days at home. But his style until last Tuesday, was still speaking, he declared love for his wife and asked for food and water. "But then went into an unconscious state, until it was in the dream. Very quiet and with their loved ones, "says his daughter Clarita.

A subtle symbolism of an artist who just made his popularity with his family ties. Born June 29, 1918 in Chillan," Uncle Lalo "was part of the first and most glorious generation of the clan Parra (see box). Together with his brother Robert, whom exceeded by exactly three years, he worked shining shoes and cleaning graves and then performing in bars and circuses Southerners. But Nicanor tries a big turnaround: in 1930, the anti-poet led him to Santiago to study in the National Internship Barros Arana, where he was fired. Result: Roberto rejoined to serve in local Bogota with the repertoire of waltzes, boleros, jazz orthodoxy and cuecas low Guachaca who built their mark.

After the death of his brother in 1995, the figure of "Lalo" Parra was revived and was able to enjoy years of ownership alone, thanks to the rescue of bands like Los Tres. There are few who think their popularity is based more on some chilenidad what is your character in his work, and almost unknown scattered widely. Mario Rojas, cuequero and expert on the subject, adds: "With the death of Robert, the vacuum is assumed 'Lalo' as a kind of post. He carried a dual role."

The wake of the folk began around 20:30 and continue today in the church of Divine Providence. So much Dioscorus Rojas, "Bombo" Fica and Pedro Messone. Tomorrow will be moved to the courtyard of artists Cemetery Chillán, where also rest Claudio Arrau and tenor Ramon Vinay.
