Mission The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. This is accomplished by:
- participation through their formative years in a non-formal educational process
- Using a specific method that makes each individual the principal agent of development as a self-reliant, supportive, person responsible and committed Helping
- to establish a value system based on spiritual values, social and personal principles as expressed in the Promise and Law
six problems were identified in the Durban Conference and should be addressed to achieve our mission are:
- Relevance: meeting the needs and aspirations of youth. Character
- Supplementary focuses on the distinctive contribution of the Scouts can make to the education of youth, particularly through the Scout Method.
- Composition: to reach young people.
- Adults: attracting and retaining the adults we need.
- relations and partnerships: working with others to better serve youth.
- Unit: pursuing a common goal at all levels .
The three strategic areas
The six challenges in three main areas: Youth
: covering the challenges of relevance, and nature additional members to provide better for younger Scouts, especially teenagers.
Adults: the challenge adults comprising: attracting and retaining the adults we need, with an emphasis on the concept of volunteerism.
structures and systems: the challenge that encompasses the relationships and partnerships - which recognizes the need to work with others to serve young people - and the challenge of the Unit: pursuing a common goal at all levels. The work in this strategic area should lead to an increase in the overall effectiveness of the Movement.
Vision for the Movement Vision Scout es:
Como un movimiento global, haciendo una verdadera contribución a la creación de un mundo mejor.
- Vemos Scouting entra en su segundo siglo como una influencia, basada en los valores educativos del Movimiento se centró en el logro de su misión, con la participación de los jóvenes que trabajan juntos para desarrollar su pleno potencial, con el apoyo de los adultos que están dispuestos y son capaces de llevar a cabo su función educativa.
